St Peter and St James’ Hospice have confirmed that this year’s Ann John Memorial Trophy game raised £820 for the charity.
A crowd of 337 packed into the Beacon in July to watch Hassocks take on Burgess Hill Town for the sixth edition of the annual charity game.
The money raised through entry prices and a raffle held on the day will pay for over 43 hours of hospice care from one of St Peter and St James’ ward nurses.
Hill ended up lifting the trophy outright for the first time after a convincing 4-0 win.
Aaron Smith-Joseph in particular had a profitable evening, scoring twice and playing a key role in Hill’s other two goals.
They came from a Kieron Pamment penalty and a Billy Barker tap in.
Thank you to everyone who turned out for this year’s event and in particular to Ian Chapman and Burgess Hill Town for their support.
