Both Hassocks Under 18s and Ladies are back in action this Sunday after their Christmas breaks.
For the Ladies, it’s been a three weeks since they last took to the field when beating AFC Littlehampton 3-1 in the quarter finals of the Sussex Women’s Challenge Trophy.
They make the trip to Wandgas looking to extend their 100% record in Division One West of the South East Counties Women’s Premier League.
The two sides have already met once this season, Hassocks winning 7-0 at the Beacon back in November. Wandgas arrived in Mid Sussex with only nine players but still gave a spirited account of themselves despite the numerical disadvantage.
The Robins goals that day came from Gemma Craig, Katherine Chappell and Kelly Rushworth along with braces for Lisa Callow and top scorer Billie Philpott.
Aside from that heavy defeat, Wandgas are having a decent season and currently sit third in the table with six wins, one draw and three defeats to their name, leaving them on level on points with second placed Steyning Town as the two sides who are currently leading the chase to the table-topping Robins.
For anyone wishing to make the journey to support Martin Lee’s side, the game takes place at Wandgas Sports Club, Grafton Road, Worcester Park, Surrey, KT4 7JW and kick off is at 2pm.
The Under 18s will look to put a disappointing end to 2018 behind them when they host Broadbridge Heath at the Beacon.
The young Robins lost their final three games of last year, going down 3-2 in the Under 18 Central Division to local rivals St Francis Rangers before exiting both the League Cup and the Dennis Probee Youth Cup at the hands of Montpelier Villa and AFC Varndeanians respectively.
That last game against the V’s came four weeks ago and Brad Sweetman’s side will be looking to complete a league double over the Bears.
They lost met in September when an own goal and strikes from Kieran Dimelow, Sam Herd and a Yahya Azizi brace secured a 5-1 win at the Leisure Centre.
Heath sit second bottom of the table having won only twice so far, once against bottom-of-the-pile Rottingdean Village and once against St Francis Rangers.
Kick off this Sunday is at 11am and entrance is free. The T Bar will be open for hot drinks throughout the morning.
