The penultimate month of fixtures have been confirmed for Hassocks Under 23s, Ladies and Under 18s with the former two well in the mix to add some silverware to the Beacon trophy cabinet.
The Under 23s are next in league action when Broadbridge Heath visit the Beacon on Thursday 7th March as the Robins look to take a step closer towards securing their first ever Southern Combination League Under 23 West Division title.
A week later on Thursday 14th March they travel to Arundel and a week after that comes the visit of Southwick to the Beacon with all three of those games kicking off at 7.45pm.
That leaves four more league matches for April – the return with Arundel at the Beacon, a trip to Midhurst & Easebourne, a home game with East Preston and a potentially season-defining visit to Gorings Mead to take on their nearest pursuers, Horsham YMCA.
The Robins are also still in the Under 23 Challenge Cup with Midhurst their quarter final opponents at the Beacon tomorrow night. Win that one and it could leave an extremely action-packed final eight weeks of the campaign for Nigel Pearce’s side.
The Ladies are set to be equally busy as they chase an historic treble of South East Counties League Division One West title, the League Cup and the Sussex Women’s Challenge Trophy.
The prize of county champions is on offer on Thursday 7th March when Martin Lee’s side faced Burgess Hill Town at Culver Road. Kick off in what looks to be a mouthwatering Mid Sussex Derby in the final is at 7.15pm down in Lancing.
The Hillians are also Hassocks’ only realistic challengers for the league championship with the Robins’ local rivals sitting 16 points behind but with three games in hand.
Hassocks will look to maintain that advantage over the course of March when they will play two of their remaining four games, at home to Bexhill United on Sunday 10th and again home versus Mole Valley on the 24th.
As for the League Cup, the Robins take on higher division Saltdean United in the semi finals this coming Sunday with a 2pm kick off at the Beacon for that one. Entrance is free and any support will be greatly appreciated.
The Under 18s meanwhile play two of their remaining three games in the rest of March as they look to finish as high up the table as the possible.
The Central Division title will, barring an absolute miracle, be moving from the Beacon to Hanbury Park with the only way that Haywards Heath Town can not be crowned champions being if they fail to take a single point from their two remaining games and Southwick win all eight of theirs.
Brad Sweetman’s young Robins’ March fixtures all take place at home – against Lancing on Sunday 3rd, Southwick on Sunday 10th and Haywards Heath on Sunday 17th.
