After four weeks without a fixture, Hassocks Under 23s will be hoping to get their season started again against the only side to have beaten them in the Southern Combination League Under 23 West Division so far.
Selsey are the visitors to the Beacon, the Blues having inflicted on the Robins their sole defeat when they triumphed 1-0 at the Bunn Leisure Stadium back in October.
Josh Hall notched the only goal of the game that day and the Robins will now be out for revenge as they look to maintain their spot at the top of the table.
Nigel Pearce’s side haven’t played since the second week of January. They were given two weeks off and then saw last Thursday’s scheduled League Cup quarter final meeting with Midhurst & Easebourne postponed due to a frozen pitch at the Beacon.
The Robins only fixture so far in 2019 remains their 3-1 win away at Broadbridge Heath, delivered courtesy of goals from James Littlejohn, Harvey Enticknap and George Galbraith-Gibbons.
Selsey in contrast will come into the game with no ring rust having played twice in the space of three days just over a week ago. On Friday 25th January they beat Arundel 3-2 before going down 3-1 away at Newhaven on Monday 28th in the semi finals of the Sussex Under 23 Challenge Cup.
The Blues are enduring something of an inconsistent season thus far. While they reached the last four of the County Cup and have that victory over the Robins to their name, they sit only seventh in the West Division with five wins and four losses from their 10 games.
Hassocks will know only too well from their experience on that long journey west four months ago that Selsey can be dangerous opponents however and the Robins will need to be at their best to avoid another upset.
Kick off at the Beacon is at 7.45pm and entrance is priced at £3 adults with everybody else going free. Both the Robins Bar and the T Bar will be open throughout the evening.
