Eastbourne Town kept their promotion hopes alive by picking up a precious three points with a 2-0 win in an entertaining clash on a sunny Mid Sussex afternoon.
Both of Town’s goals arrived in the first half with Tom Vickers putting them ahead from the penalty spot on 31 minutes and Dan Perry taking advantage of a mix up between Will Broomfield and Josh Green to double the advantage seven minutes later.
Phil Johnson went close on a couple of occasions in the second half to pulling Hassocks back into the tie but Town were worthy winners in the end, stretching their remarkable record against the Robins to just one defeat in 13 matches over the past 13 years.
