Whilst grassroots football in England has been put on hold throughout November, Hassocks have been putting the time off to good use by carrying out further improvement works at the Beacon.
Keeping substitutes and coaching teams socially distanced in the first two months of the season was relatively straightforward – the Robins simply stuck some seats further down the touchline for those involved to sit on.
With the onset of winter and wet weather, that became less of a practical solution as it would leave those positioned outside of the dugouts with no cover from the wind and rain. To address this problem, the dugouts have been extended so that they are now capable of catering for double the number of people as before.
At the opposite side of the Beacon, new advertising boards have been installed at the back of the Maurice Boxall Stand for a raft of new sponsors whose support the club are extremely grateful to have.
In a stop-start season which subsequently has so much uncertainty about income, the sponsorship of local businesses is more important than ever in helping keep the Robins afloat.
The Beacon could play host to approaching 100 games of football this season depending on future restriction imposed by the government with matches involving Hassocks’ first team, Under 23s, Under 18s and ladies sides through to various Southern Combination and Mid Sussex League cup finals and a number of Brighton and Hove Schools representative games.
Attractive sponsorship packages offer pitch side advertising which allows companies to take advantage of the number of people that pay a visit to the Beacon, ensuring that businesses are seen by thousands of potential customers over the course of the year.
If you are involved with a company who would like to take advantage of the advertising opportunities available at the Beacon, then email hassocksfc@outlook.com to find out more.
Although there has been no confirmation yet as to when the Southern Combination League season will resume, Hassocks are currently scheduled to have their first game after the lifting of restrictions at home to Broadbridge Heath on Tuesday 8th December, kick off at 7:30pm.
