Pagham game postponed due to waterlogged pitch

Lions visit to the Beacon falls to Mid Sussex monsoon

The Southern Combination League Premier Division match between Hassocks and Pagham has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Following heavy overnight and morning rain, the matchday referee carried out an inspection and deemed the Beacon to be unplayable.

No rearranged date has been set for the game. Please keep your eyes on our website and social media channels for more information.

The postponement means that the Robins’ next home match now takes place on Saturday 13th November against Alfold, kick off at 3pm.

It will be Alfold’s first ever visit to the Beacon in senior football. Neither of Hassocks’ home games against Fold managed to take place before the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons were curtailed because of the pandemic.

There is plenty of football to be played before the visit of Alfold with the Under 23s and Under 18s both having home matches over the next fortnight.

The Under 18s are due to host Worthing United tomorrow at 11am although that too is likely to be subject to a pitch inspection.

Our social media channels will have updates in regards to the status of that match over the next 24 hours.

The Under 23s then host Oakwood on Thursday 11th November. Kick off is at 7:45pm and admission is £3 adults, £1 concessions and free for under 16s.

The Robins Bar and the T Bar both open for Under 23s football and the side are enjoying an excellent campaign so far, sitting second in the Southern Combination League North Division standings.
