Freezing temperatures puts paid to Hassocks home game with the Tye
The Southern Combination League Premier Division clash between Hassocks and Peacehaven & Telscombe has been postponed.
Three days worth of overnight freezing temperatures have left the Beacon pitch frozen with no chance of it thawing out suitably before the 2pm kick off.
A new date for the game against the Tye will be set shortly. Please keep an eye on the Hassocks website and our social media channels for more information when we have it.
The next first team game will now be the trip to Eastbourne Town next Saturday. The postponement of Peacehaven’s visit means Hassocks will play Town back-to-back after Jude MacDonald’s side won 1-0 at the Beacon on Tuesday night in the second round of the Sussex Senior Cup.
Hassocks’ next home fixture will be the first Boxing Day match held at the Beacon since 2018. Steyning Town provide the opposition in an 11am kick off.
