Hassocks Under 18s have new sponsors for their team tracksuits
The Burnham name has been associated with Hassocks Football Club through three generations having involvement in the Robins.
And the partnership now extends to sponsorship after Burnham Builders kindly offered to purchase tracksuits for Hassocks Under 18s 2022-23 squad.
Starting back in the 1980s, Tony Burnham senior was involved with the club when the Robins played home games at Adastra Park.
His son Mark Burnham made 231 appearances and scored 44 goals for Hassocks during the opening years at the Beacon as the Robins rose into and established themselves in the top division of the Southern Combination League for the first time.
Tony Burnham junior came through the juniors and youth system to follow his father into the first team, turning out 18 times and scoring once in the early 00s.
Tony junior most recently played for the old Hassocks III team in the Mid Sussex Premier Division in the 2010-11 season, since when the Burnham’s have kept tabs on the Robins both from afar and in person at the Beacon.
It is fantastic to see the Burnham’s back supporting the club, this time through their building company. Founded over 50 years ago, Burnham Builders are specialists in extensions, refurbishments, kitchens, bathrooms, loft conversions, tiling, patios and more.
They are trusted, friendly, reliable and all work is finished to the highest standard – rather like watching Mark on the pitch, then.
Hassocks Under 18s are enjoying an excellent season so far under new management, sitting second in the Southern Combination Under 18 Central Division table behind local rivals Burgess Hill Town.
The Robins have a young squad this year, so to occupy such a good position at the turn of the year bodes well for their future with many players eligible for another two seasons of Under 18s football.
Hassocks also remain in two cup competitions with upcoming matches against St Francis Rangers in the Dennis Probee Youth Cup and a trip to Selsey to come in the Southern Combination Under 18 League Cup.
Seen modelling the new tracksuits are Sam Fernley and Alex Brewer, both of whom are enjoying memorable first campaigns at the Beacon.
Fernley has already broken into the Under 23s, followed by making his senior debut in the 5-0 Sussex Principal RUR Charity Cup win away at Forest Row in October where he was involved in the fifth Hassocks goal. Brewer meanwhile leads the Central Division scoring chart with 14 goals in 11 appearances.
Thank you to Burnham Builders for their support of the Young Robins.
