Hassocks home game against the Tye falls to the temperatures for the second time
For the second time in a little under six weeks, the Southern Combination League Premier Division game between Hassocks and Peacehaven & Telscombe has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.
Minus temperatures overnight left the surface still frozen solid at 1pm. The decision was subsequently taken to call off the game.
The original fixture set for December 10th had gone the same way in a week which brought snow and ice to Sussex.
A third date for the match will be set in due course with updates issued through the Hassocks website and social media channels.
The Robins have suffered two postponements in a row. Saturday’s trip to Eastbourne Town was lost to a waterlogged pitch, denying the opportunity to build upon the excellent 3-0 win over AFC Uckfield Town in their most recent outing on January 7th.
Hassocks will now visit the Saffrons on Tuesday 14th February in a 7:30pm kick off. Having not won away against Eastbourne Town since 2006, three points would make for a very nice Valentine’s Day present.
The Robins are next in action this Saturday at home to Horsham YMCA. Kick off is at 2pm and admission is £7 for adults, £3 for concessions and free for under 16s.
