Robins face four of the top six in five November games

Hassocks to test their mettle against a series of promotion hopefuls

November brings some big tests for Hassocks as they face four of the Southern Combination League Premier Division’s top six in their five matches through the month.

Fourth place Peacehaven & Telscombe are the visitors on Saturday in a 2pm kick off. The sides met three times last season with the Tye winning two and one ending in a draw.

A week later and the Robins travel to early table toppers Crowborough Athletic on Saturday 11th November.

Hassocks won on their previous visit to the Crowborough Community Stadium, a 3-2 victory in which all the goals arrived in the first half. Jack Troak, Phil Johnson and Liam Benson were on target for the Robins.

Saturday 18th November brings the first return match of the current campaign away at sixth placed Eastbourne Town.

The teams faced off on the opening day of the season at the Beacon. Nathan Hover gave Town the lead but the spoils were shared when Harry Simmons put past his own goalkeeper.

Hassocks play their second home match of November on Saturday 25th when Saltdean United visit in a 2pm kick off.

It will be a year to the weekend since the Robins scored five times in the opening 30 minutes on their way to a 5-1 victory over the Tigers.

November is then rounded off with a trip to the Birchwood Ground to face unbeaten Steyning Town on Tuesday 28th.

The Barrowmen won both Premier Division matches last season, although even more disappointing was the famous Steyning meat raffle not running for the Robins’ Easter Monday visit to the Shooting Field.

On a positive note, Hassocks did eliminate the Barrowmen from the Sussex Principal RUR Charity Cup on penalties.

Incredibly, no Under 23s fixtures for November have been released yet. Please keep an eye on this website for more information.

Hassocks Under 18s will be in action every Sunday through November, starting with a trip to Montpelier Villa on the 5th.

The Young Robins then face a Mid Sussex Derby against St Francis Rangers on Sunday 12th at Colwell Road.

Mile Oak visit the Beacon on Sunday 19th followed by a trip to Shoreham on Sunday 26th. All four of those games kick off at 11am.

The Veterans play three times, starting on Sunday against Seaford Town at Clayton Recreation Ground. Kick off is 2pm.

A long trip to Sidley United follows a week later on Sunday 12th before a huge Sussex Veterans Cup quarter final away at Mile Oak on Sunday 26th.

The Ladies will fit five games into November, including a rare midweek outing. It comes at Steyning Town on Wednesday 8th November, kick off 7:45pm at the Birchwood Ground.

Preceding that, the Robins hosting Ashford United in the London & South East Regional Women’s League Cup second round on Sunday 5th November.

Sunday 12th brings a home game with Montpelier Villa, Sunday 19th a trip to the Sunshine Coast to face Eastbourne United and Sunday 26th a home clash with Bexhill United, all kicking off at 2pm.
