Loxwood game postponed in weekend washout

Waterlogged pitch at the Beacon wipes out weekend fixtures

The heavy rain of the last few days has left the Beacon pitch waterlogged, causing a wipe out of this weekend’s fixtures.

Hassocks have been forced to postpone their Saturday Southern Combination League Premier Division clash against Loxwood.

A new date will be set in due course. Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for more information.

Both Sunday matches due to be held at the Beacon have also been postponed. The Ladies had been set to welcome Bognor Regis Town in London & South East Regional League Division One South action.

The Under 18s meanwhile were supposed to be hosting Roffey in the League Cup, after agreeing to switch the match from Bartholomew Way earlier in the week when the Boars became concerned their pitch would be unplayable.

Losing the Loxwood match means Hassocks will next be in action next Saturday afternoon away at Lingfield. Kick off is 3pm at the New Defence, Horley.

That is then followed by an eagerly anticipated Mid Sussex Derby between Hassocks and Haywards Heath Town on Boxing Day at 11am.
