Late drama at the Beacon as 10 man Hassocks overcome Common
Highlights from the Southern Combination Premier Division match between Hassocks and Little Common at the Beacon on Tuesday 6th February 2024.
There was late drama as substitute defender Dan Turner scored an 86th minute winner to give the 10-man Robins a dramatic 2-1 win over Common.
Julian Durand put Hassocks ahead inside of 10 minutes but a Sam Cruttwell free kick ensured the sides went into half time level at the break.
The Robins had to defend terrible wind and rain hammering towards the railway end of the ground in the second half, with their task made more difficult after Josh Mundy was sent off on the hour mark.
Hassocks though dug in and defended manfully for the remaining 30 minutes, setting the stage for Turner to strike as full time loomed to make it six wins in a row for the Robins.
