Five goals scored on a record-breaking afternoon at the Beacon
Highlights from the Southern Combination Premier Division match between Hassocks and Bexhill United at the Beacon on Saturday 6th April 2024.
A 5-0 victory saw the Robins set a new club-record for most points in a Southern Combination Premier Division season, moving onto 75 and keeping their hopes of a playoff place alive.
Five different players were on target although Hassocks did have to wait until the 33rd minute to open the scoring via Pat Harding.
After that though, the goals flowed regularly. Less than 120 seconds later and Sean Stephenson doubled the advantage.
Jack Troak made it 3-0 seven minutes after the break, Raging Joe Bull scored direct from a corner midway through the second half and tall striker Jamie Wilkes rounded off the rout with two minutes remaining whilst wearing the captain’s armband for the first time.
