Fixtures! Robins 2024-25 Premier Division schedule is out

Seven of opening eight games at home for the Robins

Home will hopefully be where the heart is for Hassocks as the Robins play seven of their opening eight Southern Combination League Premier Division games at the Hassocks Hotel Beacon Ground.

When you then include home games against Haywards Heath Town in the FA Cup and Storrington in the FA Vase, it becomes nine of 10.

Hassocks will kick off against Saltdean United on Saturday 27th July. Bexhill United visit on Tuesday 30th, followed by that Mid Sussex Derby with Heath in the world’s greatest cup competition. The Robins then host newly promoted Wick on Saturday 10th August.

After four consecutive home games, Hassocks hit the road for the first time on Wednesday 14th August to take on Lingfield at Tinsley Lane, home of Oakwood.

Crawley Down Gatwick provided the opposition on August Bank Holiday Monday with the month rounded off by a first ever meeting with Petersfield Town on Saturday 31st.

The Robins then wait until Tuesday 24th September for their second Premier Division away match. Roffey is the destination, followed by a first Saturday road trip to Loxwood on Saturday 28th. Just the eight weeks into the campaign.

So many home matches crammed into the opening months of the season means the Robins only have five matches scheduled at the Hassocks Hotel Beacon in 2025.

Crowborough Athletic are the visitors on Saturday 22nd February and AFC Varndeanians on Saturday 15th March.

Back-to-back home games against Pagham on Saturday 5th April and Loxwood on Saturday 12th then lead into the final Beacon fixture of the campaign against Haywards Heath on Easter Monday. Hassocks will travel to the Home Smart Energy Stadium to face the Bluebells on Boxing Day.

Other games of note include the Robins’ first trip to Petersfield Town on Saturday 1st February. Hassocks head to Wick for the first time since August 2016 on Saturday 7th December whilst the Robins will take on Newhaven on the final day for the second successive campaign.

Last season saw Hassocks run out 5-1 winners at the Beacon, booking a playoff spot in spectacular style despite playing for over an hour with only 10 men.

There will have to be some drama at the Trafalgar Ground on Saturday 26th April to top that.
