Hassocks play eight games in five competitions through a busy month
It will be a very busy September for Hassocks with eight matches scheduled, including fixtures in four different cup competitions.
The month gets underway with the visit of Division One side Infinity to the Hassocks Hotel Beacon Ground in the second round of the Peter Bentley League Cup on Tuesday 3rd September, kick off 7:45pm.
Infinity are in their first season as a Southern Combination club after being promoted from the Hampshire League at the end of last season. This will therefore be the first ever meeting between the clubs.
Saturday 7th September sees the Robins return to Premier Division action, hosting Peacehaven & Telscombe in a 3pm start.
Last season saw Hassocks complete a first league double this century over the Tye, winning 2-0 in BN6 and 2-1 down at the Window Workshop Sports Park.
Tuesday 10th September is Sussex Transport Senior Cup first round day with Pagham providing the opposition at the Hassocks Hotel Beacon Ground, followed by the visit of Horsham YMCA on Saturday 14th September.
Having played 11 of their opening 12 fixtures at home, Hassocks finish September with four consecutive away games.
The second round of the Sussex Principal RUR Charity Cup takes the Robins to Eastbourne United on Tuesday 17th September.
Saturday 21st September is a trip to Horley Town in the Isuzu FA Vase. Hassocks will be hoping for an improvement on the 6-1 defeat they suffered when last meeting the Clarets in the competition in the 2019-20 season.
The month is then rounded off with league games at Roffey on Tuesday 24th and Loxwood on Saturday 28th.
Hassocks Ladies kick off their season under new manager Mark Dalgleish with a home FA Cup tie against Abbey Rangers on Sunday 1st September.
Three more matches follow at the Hassocks Hotel Beacon Ground. Horsham Sparrows visit on Sunday 8th, Horsham on Sunday 15th and Eastbourne Borough on Sunday 29th. All games kick off at 2pm, admission is free and the Dave John Lounge and T-Bar are open throughout.
September for the Under 23s starts with a meeting between last season’s North Division top two with the Robins heading to Broadbridge Heath on Thursday 5th.
Roffey are the visitors on Thursday 12th, a rare Friday night outing in the County Cup follows on Friday 20th to Worthing Town and the month is rounded off with a home game against Oakwood.
The Under 18s start their season on Sunday 1st September with a Mid Sussex Derby at Haywards Heath Town.
They are then home to Ringer, face back-to-back away games at Montpelier Villa and Saltdean United before ending the month at home against AFC Varndeanians.
