Robins bag former Stags goalkeeper Brown

Westlake moves to strengthen his goalkeeping department

Hassocks have moved to strengthen their goalkeeping department with the capture of Jordan Brown.

The former Midhurst & Easebourne and Loxwood number one joins the Robins as Fraser Trigwell is set for time off with his partner due to give birth.

Trigwell started all 49 matches for Hassocks last season, becoming the first ever-present since current Robins head coach James Westlake in the 2011-12 campaign.

Somewhat ironically, it was Brown who took over from Trigwell between the posts at Loxwood for the second half of the 2022-23 season after Trigwell swapped the Nest for the Hassocks Hotel Beacon Ground for the second half of the season.

Brown arrived at Loxwood from the United States, where he played for the University of Texas Permian Basin, otherwise known as UTPB.

He turned out 20 times for the Magpies before making the move to Midhurst & Easebourne for the 2023-24 campaign.

Brown made 21 appearances as a stag, helping Midhurst secure their first top 10 finish in the Southern Combination Premier Division since returning to the step five after a 30 years absence.

His form was good enough to convince Isthmian League South Central Division outfit Littlehampton Town to dual-sign him.

Brown subsequently went onto help the Marigolds out during a goalkeeper crisis, keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Three Bridges back in February.

You can follow Brown on Instagram at @r3algk, where he is a content creator and shares videos of his performances and training.

Welcome to the Hassocks Hotel Beacon Ground, Jordan.
