The Robins became the first side to defeat the unbeaten league leaders this season thanks to a brilliant 3-1 victory.
Morgan Vale struck inside of 60 seconds to give Hassocks the perfect start. Tall striker Jamie Wilkes made it 2-0 five minutes before half time, followed by a first Robins goal from Joe Overy 120 seconds later leaving the Rams shell shocked.
Petersfield gathered themselves and came on strong after the break. A Jordan Brown penalty save and a superb Liam Hendy sliding tackle from the rebound kept the Rams at bay.
Although Petersfield did pull one back through substitute Asad Ssemwogerere, Hassocks held firm to climb to second in the table.
