Robins take flight to the Nest for away game three in a row

Hassocks head north to take on in-form Loxwood

A third consecutive away game in the space of seven days takes Hassocks to the Nest for a tough test against high-flying Loxwood.

The Robins will be hoping to make it three wins from three on the road. They ran out 2-1 winners at Horley Town in the FA Vase last Saturday before easing to a 4-0 success against Roffey at Bartholomew Way on Tuesday night.

Another return to the north of the county is in store to a venue where Hassocks and the Magpies have been involved in several entertaining clashes involving plenty of goals over the last decade.

Loxwood this season

Loxwood appointed former Redhill and South Park manager Harrison Williams as their new boss in the summer and he has made an excellent start to life at the Nest.

The Magpies finished 16th last season with 30 points. Williams’ rebuilt squad are almost halfway towards that total already with 14 on the board courtesy of four wins, two draws and three defeats.

That leaves Loxwood in a current Premier Division position of sixth and well in the battle for a playoff spot at this admittedly early stage of proceedings.

Loxwood v Hassocks head-to-head

The sides first clashed in the 2014-15 season. Since then, there have been 18 meetings, all of which have come in the bread and butter of league football.

Hassocks have won six, drawn four and lost eight. The fixture has provided 34 goals in the past nine matches.

Last time Hassocks played Loxwood

It was a straightforward 4-0 at the Hassocks Hotel Beacon Ground back in January for the Robins. Alex Bygraves, Big Alex Fair, tall striker Jamie Wilkes and Pat Harding were all on target.

Loxwood meanwhile saw two members of coaching staff sent from the bench and were considerably lucky to only pick up only two yellow cards over the course of a pretty brutal 90 minutes.

How to get to the Nest

Follow the A272 to and through Billingshurst, crossing the roundabout with the A29 before joining the B2133 shortly after.

Pass through Newpound and Roundstreet Common, approaching a fork in the road with Skiff Lane. Plaistow Road is just on the left after that with the ground a very short distance down it.
