Three goals and five assists make Fair November Player of the Month

Forward was named Robins Starman for half Hassocks games in November

Having been named Robins Starman in three of six November fixtures, Big Alex Fair made for a very obvious Hassocks Player of the Month Award winner.

The forward scored three times and set up another five as the Robins won five and drew one of their matches.

Three of those assists came in 45 minutes when Hassocks kicked off November with a superb 5-0 home victory over Newhaven, earning Fair the first of his Starman accolades.

Head coach James Westlake sprung something of a surprise before kick off, naming Fair on the right wing rather than the left sided berth or number 10 role he had filled up to that point in the season.

It proved to be a masterstroke. Fair teed up tall striker Jamie Wilkes for the opening goal. His cross was then put away by Harry Furnell for the second, followed by a perfect volleyed through ball on the stroke of half time as Morgan Vale added the fourth.

10 days later and Fair notched the first Hassocks goal in a 3-0 Tuesday night win away at Loxwood. Two early opportunities went begging, leading Fair to scream “Oh my God” at the top of his voice, much to the delight of everyone at the Nest.

Fair made no mistake with his third chance of the night, however, drilling past Magpies goalkeeper Andy Barr from front and centre 15 yards out.

A second Starman award came Fair’s way in the 2-1 win over Midhurst & Easebourne whilst his fourth assist of the month saw him set up Ruari Farrell away at Saltdean United.

Josh Mundy clipped a pass up the line which Fair chased and crossed on the volley first time. It put the ball on a plate for Farrell to smash home the second Hassocks goal of a 2-1 win.

Fair then scored twice and forced a Pagham own goal as the Robins won 3-0 at Nyetimber Lane in the midst of Storm Bert.

Second place in November Player of the Month went to Dan Turner, who scooped up two of the other Starman awards for his performances at Tunbridge Wells in the FA Vase and in the 2-1 win over Shoreham.

Hassocks netted in the 91st and 93rd minutes against the Musslemen to snatch three points. The victory over Midhurst a fortnight earlier was nearly as dramatic, Turner smashing home an 89th minute winner.

Harvey Enticknap meanwhile came third in his first full month back with the Robins since re-joining the club from Crawley Down Gatwick.

Enticknap showed his versatility by playing as both a holding midfielder and a number 10 during November.
