Hassocks Under 18s made it three wins from three games after a 4-0 victory over Upper Beeding at the Beacon.
The Young Robins grasped the rare opportunity of playing under the lights by stretching their Under 18 Central Division winning streak to 17 games.
The last time Hassocks dropped a point came on September 24th last year in a 4-4 draw with AFC Varndeanians. If they can avoid defeat in their next league game against Broadbridge Heath, they’ll have gone a calendar year undefeated.
That will be quite the achievement given that Brad Sweetman has put together an entirely new squad for this campaign – not that you can tell as there are very few signs of unfamiliarity among the Robins.
First half goals from Tristan Hayes and Yahya Azizi sent Hassocks into the break 2-0 ahead and it was the same duo who netted again in the second half to walk away with braces.
Those goals take Hayes onto five for the seasons with Azizi on four and already an intriguing battle to be top scorer looks to be on the cards.
The Robins game with Broadbridge Heath which could stretch that unbeaten run beyond the 365 day mark takes place this Sunday with an 11am kick off Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre.
