Under 23s find out their October opponents

The October fixtures for the Southern Combination League Under 23 West Division have been announced with Hassocks facing four games throughout the month.

The Robins will look to consolidate their spot at the head of the table on Friday 5th October when they make the long trip west to face Selsey.

This will be the first time that the two sides have faced off at Under 23 level. The clash takes place at the Bunn Leisure with a 7.45pm kick off.

Six days later on Thursday 11th October, Hassocks get their Sussex County Under 23 Cup campaign underway at home to Hailsham Town. The sides met in the second round of the competition last season with the Robins easing to a 5-0 win at the Beaconsfield.

Kieran Rowe scored twice that evening with the other goals for Nigel Pearce’s side coming from Connor Bradley, Max Willcox and Matt Berridge. Kick off in that one is 7.45pm.

A week after that on Thursday 18th, Mile Oak visit the Beacon. That game had originally been scheduled for this coming Thursday 27th September but the venue has since been switched with Nigel Pearce taking his side to Mile Oak Rec.

That means that the Robins’ fixtures with Oak will be completed extremely quickly and it is a similar story with Lancing who visit the Beacon in the months final game on Thursday 25th October.

Hassocks and Lancing only met in the opening game of the campaign towards the end of August, playing out a 1-1 draw at Culver Road with Max Willcox the scorer.

The Lancers visit to the Beacon kicks off at 7.45pm. Entry for all home games is priced at £3 adults with concessions and under 16s going free.
