Robins to crown 2022-23 Award winners on Coronation Weekend

Hassocks End of Season Awards Afternoon takes place on Sunday 7th May

King Charles is not the only coronation taking place over the second weekend of May. Hassocks will crown their 2022-23 Season Award winners at the Beacon on Sunday 7th May.

The afternoon will get underway at 3pm and all Robins supporters are invited to attend as the club celebrates one of its best campaigns for many years.

James Westlake led Hassocks to their first Southern Combination League Premier Division top 10 finish since 2014. The feat was achieved playing entertaining attacking football, which saw 73 goals plundered – the joint fifth highest total in the division.

The Under 23s were crowned North Division champions for the first time since development football replaced reserve football in 2015.

Neil Parker’s side have suffered only one league defeat all season with two games still to play at the time of writing. They could yet finish more than 10 points clear of second, a remarkable achievement in an 18 game campaign.

The Under 18s finished third in the Central Division with one of the youngest squads in the league, made up mainly of players aged between 15 and 17.

It was in knockout football where they best underlined their potential, advancing to the semi finals of both the League Cup and the Sussex Dennis Probee Youth Cup.

All three teams will have their Player’s Player and Manager’s Player awards presented on the day, with the bar open throughout.

The coveted Supporters’ Player will also be announced, along with Clubman of the Year and other presentations to those who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the campaign has passed without so much as a hitch.
