Robins trip to AFC Uckfield Town rescheduled

Hassocks’ Southern Combination League Premier Division fixture against AFC Uckfield Town has been rearranged due to Town’s continued involvement in the FA Vase.

The game, originally scheduled for this coming Saturday 3rd November, will now take place on Tuesday 27th November with a 7.30pm kick off at the Oaks.

Uckfield are into the second round of the national cup competition and will make the trip to AFC Croydon Athletic of the Southern Counties East League Premier Division.

Anthony Storey’s side have defeated Hassocks’ FA Cup conquerors of last season Hollands & Blair, Southwick, and Tunbridge Wells to be one of the six remaining Southern Combination League teams left in the competition.

Hassocks will have fond memories from their last visit to the Oaks. They won 4-1 there last September through a Liam Benson brace and goals from Lewis Westlake and Spencer Slaughter.

That was one of two trips to Uckfield in the 2017-18 season, the other being far less enjoyable from a Robins point of view as Hassocks were eliminated from the Sussex Principal RUR Charity Cup following a 4-2 defeat in extra time.
Benson again and Michael Death were the scorers on that occasion.
