Hassocks’ Southern Combination League Premier Division match with AFC Uckfield Town scheduled for Tuesday night has been switched from the Oaks to the Beacon.
The game had been originally due to be played on Saturday 4th November. AFC Uckfield’s continued involvement in the FA Vase however put paid to that date, with the Oaks defeating AFC Croydon Athletic 2-1 to move into the third round of the competition, where they will face Sutton Common Rovers at home this coming weekend.
This will be the 14th meeting between the two sides. Hassocks have won eight with Uckfield triumphing in six. There has never been a draw, which means it won’t be one that you’ll want to include on your coupon. When Hassocks do win against Town, they tend to win big having plundered 34 goals in the fixture.
Both sides will come into the game off the back of weekend wins, Town having won 3-0 away at Lancing to move up to 11th in the Premier League while Hassocks picked up their first league victory since September when defeating Lingfield 3-2 thanks to Jake Lindsey’s 90th minute winner.
The switch will mean that Hassocks will now finish their campaign with two away games. The Robins had been due to host Uckfield on the final day of the campaign on Saturday 27th April but they will now make the short journey to the Oaks insted.
Kick off on Tuesday night will be at 7.45pm. Entrance will be £6 for adults, £3 for concessions and under 16s go free. Unfortunately due to the late notice of the venue change, no matchday programme will be available but the normal Robins Bar and T Bar facilities will be open to serve alcohol and hot and cold food and drink respectively.
