12 goal Robins through to round three of Dennis Probee Cup
The goals flew in at the Hassocks Hotel Beacon Ground where the Robins Under 18s hosted Eastbourne Town Under 17s in the second round of the Sussex Dennis Probee Youth Cup.
Nine different Hassocks players scored in a 12-0 win which makes it 19 goals scored in two County Cup matches so far this season.
The Robins eased past Ringmer in the previous round and will face Pagham next at home on Sunday 11th November.
That should be a sterner test of Hassocks than either of their two games in the competition so far, seeing as the Lions advanced through three rounds of the FA Youth Cup this season.
But by the same token, no opponent will fancy facing a Young Robins side who can seemingly score from anyway.
Hassocks made four changes from the side who saw off AFC Varndeanians 7-0 in Southern Combination Under 18 Central Division action the previous Sunday.
Theo Bradley took over in goal from George Lythgoe as the number one shirt continues to be rotated between the two talented shot stoppers.
George Adlington came in for his full debut in place of Ben Foster, Scott Smith took over from George Drake and Charlie Bonwick-Adams returned on the wing with Will Hartley dropping down to the bench.
Hassocks needed only four minutes to open the scoring, defender Charman popping up with his first since the 5-1 opening day win at Haywards Heath Town.
In-form Evan China added the second on 15 minutes. The wide player now has five goals by the opening weekend of October this season for Under 23s and Under 18s, having notched only three in the entire 2023-24 campaign.
Charman made it 3-0 on the half hour, followed by two Nye Sim goals in the following four minutes giving Hassocks a 5-0 lead going into the break.
Wholesale changes came at half time as the Robins introduced all five of their subs. On came Ethan Brasier, Charlie Clayton, Liam Deere, Drake and Hartley.
The second half scoring was started by Kai Birchley eight minutes after the restart. Hartley made it 7-0 on the hour and 14 minutes later, Smith brought up the eighth.
Harry Hammond struck on 79 with the final three goals taking Hassocks onto double figures and beyond coming in the final 10 minutes.
Hartley made it a brace from the bench on 84 to bring up the 10. Bonwick-Adams got in on the act on 86 and Hartley’s fellow replacement Deere rounded things off on 89.
