Six goals in six matches for the summer signing from Mile Oak
Six goals in six October matches saw forward Harry Furnell win his first Hassocks Player of the Month award.
The summer signing from Mile Oak seized the opportunity offered by injuries to Big Alex Fair and Jack Troak, making the left wing spot his own through a series of superb performances.
Furnell got his October up and running by scoring the crucial second goal as Little Common were beaten 3-1 at the Hassocks Hotel Beacon Ground.
The timing was perfect, the visitors having equalised only 60 seconds earlier. A raking Dan Turner pass out of defence found the run of Furnell, who produced a delightful cushioned volley over advancing Common goalkeeper Matt Crutwell.
Four days later and Furnell became the first Robin to score a hat-trick this season with a sensational treble in a 5-1 win away at AFC Varndeanians.
All three goals arrived in a blistering 16 minute second half spell. Furnell cut inside former Hassocks defender Charlie Tuck to move the Robins 3-1 ahead on the hour mark.
Two minutes later and Furnell finished a one-on-one after an outrageous back heel assist from Darren Budd.
He then rounded off the scoring from the penalty spot after Will Berry was clearly pushed in the back by a Varndeanians defender attempting to reach a long Turner throw.
Furnell scored again in the 3-1 win over Eastbourne United, picking out the top corner with aplomb following an acrobatic assist from Tall Striker Jamie Wilkes.
His sixth goal then came in the final game of October as Hassocks saw their unbeaten start to the Premier Division season ended in a 2-1 defeat at Crowborough Athletic,
Turner was a worthy second to Furnell in October Player of the Month having contributed at both ends for Hassocks.
As well as the goals he has already been mentioned as playing a part in, it was Turner’s long throw headed in by Ruari Farrell for the opener in the Robins’ 2-0 FA Vase win at Camberley Town.
He scored himself with a bullet header against Eastbourne United for the killer third before celebrating by swinging Alfie Loversidge around like a ragdoll.
Third place went to Josh Mundy, whose impressive season continued in the midfield engine room through October.
The youngster was named Robins Starman in the win over Eastbourne United and gave a performance defying his age in that famous Vase success against Camberley.
