Hassocks v Horsham YMCA falls to waterlogged pitch

Hassocks’ Southern Combination League Premier Division clash with Horsham YMCA has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at the Beacon.

The visit of the league leaders becomes the third game to fall to the weather this week. The first teams game against AFC Uckfield Town on Tuesday night was also postponed while the Under 23s home game against Southwick that was due to be played on Thursday was cancelled.

Storm Diana has been largely responsible for the damage having hit Mid Sussex since late on Tuesday and although things brightened up on Friday, continued overnight rain into Saturday morning has left standing water all over the surface. As a result, the Under 18s game tomorrow against Lancing has also been postponed.

No new date has been set yet for the visit of YM, but please keep an eye on the website and our social media channels for news of when both that and the meeting with AFC Uckfield have been rescheduled for.

Hassocks are next in action next Saturday away at in-form Eastbourne Town, while the next action at the Beacon comes in 10 days time on Tuesday 11th December in the Sussex Principal RUR Charity Cup against Mid Sussex rivals Haywards Heath Town. Kick off in that one is 7.45pm.
