The Robins gave a brave performance away at Peacehaven & Telscombe before eventually succumbing 3-1 to the Tye. Marcus Richmond gave the hosts an early lead and Hassocks’ cause wasn’t helped when Alex Spinks was sent off with less than 30 minutes on the clock.
Despite having to play for over an hour shorthanded, the Robins did manage to equalise when Liam Benson converted a penalty after Alifeu Secka in the Peacehaven goal felled Johnson in the box.
Things were level for only five minutes as the Tye were awarded a penalty of their own after Curtis Ford was pushed in the back in the box. Richmond beat Harris from 12 yards and the hoses made the game safe when Jake Brocklebank hit a deflected effort past Alex Harris.
