Hassocks put in one of their finest performances of the 2018-19 season so far to win away at Newhaven for the first ever time at senior level.
Spencer Slaughter scored the only goal of the game right on half time with the Robins having to cope with the double blow of losing top scorer Phil Johnson to injury early on and then having to finish the game with 10 men after George Brown was sent off.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, Hassocks managed to hold on with Slaughter describing it afterwards as, “a proper old-school Hassocks workmanlike performance.”
