Southern Combination League season suspended until December 2nd

Following the UK government’s introduction of new national Covid-19 restrictions, the FA have announced that football in England is to be suspended in line with the lockdown period of Thursday November 5th to Wednesday 2nd December.

Competitive matches and training are both covered by the ban, meaning that there will be no Southern Combination League matches for Hassocks’ first team, Under 23s, Under 18s or Ladies for at least the next month.

The Robins will therefore see the following first team matches postponed:

  • Away v Lingfield – Saturday 7th November
  • Home v Newhaven – Saturday 14th November
  • Away v Little Common – Saturday 21st November
  • Home v Loxwood – Saturday 28th November

Under 23s fixtures postponed:

  • Home v Alfold – Thursday 5th November
  • Away v Horsham YMCA – Thursday 12th November
  • Home v Broadbridge Heath – Thursday 19th November
  • Home v Oakwood – Thursday 26th November

Under 18s fixtures postponed:

  • Home v Bosham – Sunday 8th November
  • Away v Steyning Town – Sunday 15th November

Ladies fixtures postponed:

  • Home v Herne Bay – Sunday 8th November
  • Away v Parkwood Rangers – Sunday 15th November
  • Home v Newhaven – Sunday 22nd November
  • Away v Herne Bay – Sunday 29th November

On the basis of the restrictions being lifted on December 2nd, Hassocks’ first game back would be at home to AFC Uckfield on Saturday 5th December. This however is subject to change and further games could yet be lost depending on future decisions taken by government.

We would like to thank everyone for their fantastic support at the Beacon so far in 2020-21 and we hope to be able to welcome you all back in the not-to-distant future. Stay safe.
