Robins return to training ahead of 2021-22 season

Hassocks return to training ahead of the 2020-21 Southern Combination League Premier Division season on Tuesday 15th June with a full pre-season schedule to be announced in the next few days.

The Robins will hold sessions every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday up until the start of friendlies on Tuesday 6th July. Matches will then take place every Saturday and Tuesday with training on Thursdays.

Sessions may be rearranged depending on England’s progress through Euro 2020. The Premier Division campaign gets underway on Saturday 31st July, there will be another league game on Tuesday 3rd August and the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup takes place on Saturday 7th August.

Hassocks are inviting players new and old to attend who are interested in playing for the senior team, the Under 23s or the Under 18s in the new season. If you would like to come along, then please contact Brad Sweetman on 07933 729597 for more information on time and venue.

The Robins enjoyed an excellent year last time out across all three male teams. The first teamsat 12th in the Premier Division season when the 2020-021 season was curtailed.

In the end-of-year Supplementary Shield, Hassocks finished in second place in Group C ahead of both Horley Town and Crawley Down Gatwick, who were in the top six prior to the winter lockdown.

In the Under 23 Supplementary Shield, Hassocks finished third in Group B. The Under 18s reached the semi finals of their competition where they suffered their only defeat of the season. Prior to that, the young Robins had sat top of the North Division with an unbeaten record.
