Reigning Southern Combination League champions Haywards Heath Town proved to be too strong for their Mid Sussex neighbours Hassocks as the visitors ran out comfortable 3-1 winners in the sides’ pre-season meeting at the Beacon.
Callum Saunders gave Heath a first half lead which Karly Akehurst and Max Miller added to. Hassocks’ consolation came one minute from the end and was scored by George Brown.
