Hassocks put in a relatively good performance against one of the Premier Division’s title chasers but it still wasn’t enough to secure any points as Peacehaven & Telscombe left Mid Sussex with a 1-0 win.
Tyler Capon scored the only goal of the game two minutes into the second half. The Tye knew they’d been in a game come the final whistle and had some kind words afterwards about the spirit and resilience that Hassocks had shown, but victories on the day for fellow strugglers Pagham and East Preston meant that the Robins ended the day cast further adrift in the relegation zone.
